On Saturday, March 12, 2022, officers of UTD CKI joined with Division 2 Kiwanis under Lieutenant Governor Randy McDaniel during a divisional council meeting.
Throughout Texas-Oklahoma's Circle K District Convention, Kiwanis had the opportunity to write down the answer to a question, "Why, CKI?" Lieutenant Governor Randy McDaniel answered, "If you think the children of the world are our future, that's Kiwanis."
Kiwanis is an organization that looks to promoting the children of today and tomorrow. Through CKI's district convention, both CKI members and Kiwanis members made 150 cake kits and coloring books for local food pantries. Kiwanis members from Pleasant Grove, Allen, and other areas brought these kits back to their respective towns to donate.
Later during the meeting, we had an opportunity to hear from Salvation Army Lieutenant Luis Villanueva from Pleasant Grove, TX. Villanueva spoke about opportunities to volunteer at Salvation Army to raise money for everyone and anyone who needs the support.
Lastly, the Allen High School Key Club is currently working on two amazing service projects: ESL for students in Ecuador and Angel League Baseball for children with disabilities.
